"Dior Homme creative director, Kris Van Assche, recently curated an outstanding exhibition at the Hyères Festival, an international festival of photography and fashion that takes place annually in Hyères, France.
His project, the Picaflor Exhibition, combines the worlds of fashion, art, photography and nature. The interactive exhibit consists of 12 futuristic metal flowers, each symbolizing a different aspect of Kris life. Within every flower, there is a small TV screen displaying photographs that represent different sources of inspiration for Kris. For example, in one of the flowers Kris wished to pay homage to the Dior Homme Atelier, which is a constant source of inspiration for him. The images in this flower showcase the making of the Fall 2009 collection from the most premature stages. According to Kris: "I wanted to create a space that synthesizes my influences, that brings together the principal players in my creative universe.""
